John Perkins, Economist/Author/Activist John first apprenticed with shamans he lived with in the Amazon rain forest from 1968 to 1971 and has since studied with shamans in many cultures. As chief economist at an international consulting firm, he advised governments, the United Nations, World Bank, and other organizations. His eleven books on shamanism and economics, including Shapeshifting, the Confessions of an Economic Hit Man trilogy,and Touching the Jaguar, have been on the New York Times bestseller list for more than 70 weeks, sold millions of copies, and are published in 38 languages. He has been featured on major TV, film, and print media. He was awarded the Lennon/Ono Peace Prize (along with Lady Gaga and Pussy Riot). He is a founder of the nonprofits Dream Change and The Pachamama Alliance.
